To all these titles I am proud to add fully certified Independent Funeral Celebrant.

I live and work within my own family business in Truro. I have 2 grown up daughters, a granddaughter and a faithful dog called Bailey.

I am the founding member of a charity fundraising group where we meet, plan and raise funds that support local good causes. I love making jewellery and other pretty things; I call them my posh pieces!

    Why I became a Celebrant

"My life changed forever last year when I sadly lost my wonderful husband of 43 years."

Navigating my loss felt heavy in ways I could not have imagined. Days when I felt lost and everything felt too much. That experience showed me that while my grief was heavy and at times unbearable, I was designed to withstand it, learn from it and eventually survive it and grow.

My grief will never leave me, and I don’t want it to, but a year on, I feel I am able to face the world again by getting back to living my life. By doing that I feel I am honouring my husband, his legacy and the wonderful life we built together.

While planning my husband’s funeral I wrote my eulogy for him in a flash; the words came pouring out as I expressed my love for him and the pain of our loss.

Knowing I would be too emotional to read it myself I contemplated who could deliver it with that same passion I felt. It was in that moment I realised I needed to do the training to become a celebrant. I totally understood the importance of getting it right.
